  • Overview

weba is mainly focusing on the development and production of hot forming tools and challenging tools for high-strength structural parts. Based on the modern production techniques and highly qualified employees weba has developed into an absolute expert in hot forming over the years. Car manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers (Tier 1s) all around the world rely on our experience and our advanced technology. The success potentials evolve from targeted product development and specialization in market niches. With an export quota of over 95% to the core markets Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, China, USA and Mexico we have a sound basis to continue our success story in the future.

The CAM Programmer bridges the gap between the Project Design team and machine operators on the production floor. Using models and geometries provided by Project Designers, the CAM Programmer processes these files so that they are compatible with our many machines.

    • The primary responsibility of the CAM Programmer is to prepare CNC programs for processing on a variet of multi‐axis milling machines.
    • The CAM Programmer will be expected to work with 2D/3D  models and convert them for use by the machine operators. Depending on the skills of the individual, more involved drafting responsibilities and growth opportunities are available.
    • Write and optimize CNC programs to create parts on 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
    • Optimize the machining time-reducing tool changes during operation.
    • Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines and reduce set up time to improve machining productivity.
    • Work together with CNC operators to adjust and optimize parts set up and programs.
    • Work with Engineering Design teams to optimize conceptual designs for manufacturability.
    • Assign tool paths and processes to CAD models produced by the Project Design team.
    • Assign parts to be cut on the proper machine – by material type/thickness & final finish of the detail.
    • Check completed programs by running cut simulations
    • Read and interpret fabrication and construction documents.
    • Depending on abilities, more involved drafting responsibilities may be assigned.
    • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
