    Business Development Engineer - CFRP


    Summary:  Technical customer interface responsible for new business development of Mubea CFRP technologies in the North American market.  Works jointly with the local Key Account organization and Global Business Units to identify and develop new applications for NA OEMs.  Regional and International travel required (50%).

    • Introduce Mubea Carbon Fiber products and capabilities at the NA OEMs and develop relationships required to discover and understand OEM needs and target applications for Carbon Fiber.
    • Manage all technical communication with and between OEMs and MCT Technical Center regarding design, development, materials and processes related to new technologies.
    • Primary point of interface to the customer for the respective program(s) within the unit as well as all the deliverables that are in the program they will manage.
    • Build a reputation of Carbon Fiber competence at the customers.
    • Manage project planning per Mubea Management System and product specs in accordance to MCT technical capabilities as required.
    • Manage global internal meetings to communicate business development status, needs and roadblocks.
    • Provide and facilitate training of Key Account Managers on all relevant MCT technologies and unique selling points.
    • Coordinate prototyping of products and ensure quality and on-time delivery to customer.
    • Coordinate global technical support with MCT.
    • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
    • Manage prototype orders and samples for customers.
    • Participate in industry groups, initiatives and activities that are related to MCT technologies and products.

    Education and/or Experience                                                

    • BS Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree in related field is preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years work experience in the Automotive industry.
    • Previous work experience in Carbon Fiber materials, processes and technologies for use in automotive applications.
    • High mechanical and technical aptitude.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated leader who is customer oriented with an entrepreneurial demeanor.



    Computer Skills                                             


    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Lotus Notes; Internet software and Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word Processing software. Knowledge of CAE Software, Weibull, and other mathematical methods strongly recommended.


    Other Skills and Abilities                                           


    Must have knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the manufacturing and distribution of goods. Must have general knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, technology, and other applications. A general knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models, and mechanics. Must have a basic knowledge or training in 5's, Lockout & tagout, Hazcom, Plant Safety, ISO 14001, TS16949, HazWaste, and environmental and quality standards.
